British diplomats to attend Chinese trial of Bo Xilai's wife
LONDON (AFP) - Britain's foreign ministry said on Saturday that its diplomats would attend the trial of the wife of disgraced Chinese politician Bo Xilai for the murder of British businessman Neil Heywood.
"We can confirm that British diplomats will attend the trial," a ministry spokesman told AFP, ahead of the opening of the trial on Aug 9.
"We are dedicated to seeking justice for (Heywood) and his family."
The scandal involving one of China's most prominent political leaders has rocked China's political establishment to its core, and it is very rare for foreign diplomats to be granted access to such a politically-charged trial.
