Olympics: Hero's welcome for Lee Chong Wei, says Malaysian minister

MUAR (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK): Malaysian badminton star Lee Chong Wei will be given a hero's welcome when he returns home on Tuesday.

Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Datuk Razali Ibrahim said despite losing to Lin Dan in Sunday's final, Chong Wei showed great determination in the game.

"He showed determination in fighting for the gold medal in the prestigious event. This is something every Malaysian looks forward to," he said.

Chong Wei settled for the silver medal when he lost 21-15, 10-21, 19-21 in a keenly contested game.
