JAKARTA (THE JAKARTA POST/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - Novi Amalia, the 25-year-old model who allegedly crashed her car into a group of seven pedestrians amd injuring them while under the influence of illegal substances, has been named a suspect for violating the Traffic Law.
However, the police have not charged her for drug or alcohol abuse.
Jakarta Police spokesman Senior Commissioner Rikwanto said on Thursday that the model was not charged for taking illegal substances because the police did not find evidence to support such allegations at the scene, even though urine tests indicated that Novi was intoxicated.
"She will only go to a rehabilitation center chosen by the National Narcotics Agency for drug and alcohol abuse treatment," Mr Rikwanto said as quoted by Tempo.co.
