GEORGE TOWN (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK): A 24-year-old Malaysian man died after he lost control of his car and it plunged off the Penang Bridge into the sea on Thursday.

Factory clerk Tan Lean Loon was believed to be on his way home to Air Itam on the island at around 4am when his car rammed into the side guardrail along the bridge.

The car skidded along the iron railing for a short distance before hitting a lamp post and plunging into the sea.
