2nd Penang bridge on schedule to open in September 2013

GEORGE TOWN (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - Work on a second bridge that will join Penang to mainland Malaysia is ahead of schedule and has been 84 per cent completed, a project official was quoted as saying by The Star newspaper on Wednesday.
"We are two months ahead of schedule from the September 2013 deadline," Jambatan Kedua Sdn Bhd construction director Hamizol Ngah was quoted as saying by the newspaper.
"We aim to have 90 per cent of the bridge completed by end of the year."
Work on the RM4.5 billion (S$1.8 billion) bridge started in November 2008. The project is scheduled to be opened to traffic by September next year.
