US bomber flight over South Korea

The United States will conduct a bomber flight over South Korea today, an official at United States Forces in Korea said, in what is seen as a show of force against North Korea after the reclusive state recently carried out its fifth nuclear test. South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reported that bad weather had delayed a planned US military B-1B bomber flight to the Korean Peninsula that had been scheduled for yesterday.


Manpower initiative for eldercare

The National University Health System, an academic regional health system, and the Methodist Welfare Services, a multi-service welfare agency, will today announce a manpower partnership initiative for nursing homes, to address the growing need for good eldercare here. Not only is demand growing, but the care required is also getting more complex, highlighting the need for the public healthcare sector and nursing homes to work together.


Tharman to address Economic Society

Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic and Social Policies Tharman Shanmugaratnam will speak tonight at the Economic Society of Singapore's 60th anniversary annual dinner.
