Najib to present Budget today

Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak will today unveil the annual Budget that some analysts predict could be a harbinger of polls in early 2017. The Budget is expected to include a raft of populist measures to assuage voters unhappy with his leadership and rising living costs, after he weathered more than a year of international scandals over political funding.


Signed book by Mr Lee to be auctioned

A signed book by the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew will be up for grabs at a live auction today to benefit the Dyslexia Association of Singapore. Mr Lee revealed in 1996 that he had mild dyslexia. The signed book is My Lifelong Challenge, about Singapore's first Prime Minister's struggle to learn the Chinese language. Proceeds from the auction will go to the Jimmy Daruwalla Fund, set up for dyslexic people and in memory of DAS' founding president who died in July.


Entrepreneur of the Year Singapore

The overall EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Singapore for 2016, who will represent the country at the World Entrepreneur Of The Year award in Monte Carlo next year, will be unveiled tonight at a gala dinner. The Singapore business leaders in the running for the overall top prize are: Mr Lawrence Leow of Crescendas Group, Mr David Low of Futuristic Store Fixtures, Ms Helene Raudaschl of Indoguna Singapore and Mr Peter Lim Yong Guan of Soo Kee Group.
