The US Navy held a memorial service yesterday for the seven sailors who were killed when the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Fitzgerald collided with a cargo ship off the coast of Japan on June 17. The private gathering was held at a naval base in Yokosuka, south of Tokyo, the home port of the badly damaged destroyer, according to the US Navy. The cause of the collision is still unclear and investigations are ongoing.
