With one hand, Dr Abu Azam held up an X-ray of a child's elbow, examining it for a fracture, while he wrote a prescription for an elderly man with his other hand. Another patient with a bruised shoulder waited to be seen next.

Dr Azam, who runs a clinic in central Delhi, has never seen patients as quickly before. But since he arrived at the medical camp in the Eidgah relief centre in Mustafabad, he said he has learnt to multitask.
