The accident took place in Khad Koocha area of Mastung district, 45 kilometres( 28 miles) south of Quetta, the capital of the oil and gas rich Baluchistan province.

"A Quetta bound passenger van carrying 18 passengers had a head on collusion with a truck coming from opposition direction, killing 14 people including a 12-year-old boy and injuring six others," district official Sabzal Khan Rind told AFP.

Ismail Ibrahim, another senior local administration official also confirmed the details of the accident.
