Mango tribute

Thousands of mangoes were offered by devotees to Hindu Lord Krishna during a mango festival at a temple in the western city of Ahmedabad, India, on Sunday.

During the country's mango season - from around March to this month - the so-called King of Fruits is widely sold, celebrated and, of course, eaten.

The mangoes will be distributed after the ceremony among devotees, who will then savour the fruit as a dessert or use the mangoes to make juice, sweets or chutney.
