All Singaporeans registered with MFA are safe

SINGAPORE - All Singaporeans in Nepal who are registered with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) have been accounted for and are safe, the Ministry said in a statement on Thursday.

Before the earthquake on April 25, 58 Singaporeans in Nepal were registered via MFA's eRegister website.

The number increased to over 220 after the earthquake, MFA said.

More than 100 have returned to Singapore over the past few days on the Republic of Singapore Air Force planes and commercial flights, it added.

MFA will continue to facilitate other Singaporeans who wish to leave Nepal.

The Ministry encouraged Singaporeans travelling overseas to eRegister so that it can contact them or their next-of-kin promptly in a crisis.

Singaporeans who require consular assistance or advice can call +65-6379-8800/8855 or email mfa_duty_officer@mfa.gov.sg.
