Catch solar eclipse in the morning

A total solar eclipse will sweep across the vast Indonesian archipelago today.

Partial eclipses will be visible in northern Australia and parts of South-east Asia, including Singapore where the rare phenomenon can be be observed between approximately 7.20am and 9.30am.

COE tender closes today

The tender for certificates of entitlement (COEs) will close today.

COE premiums for larger cars above 1,600cc or 130bhp had rebounded to close at $46,970 at the previous tender, after falling to a six-year low of $38,610 in the first tender for February. The premiums for other COE categories had ended mixed.

Release of data on housing rents

SRX Property will today release data on private residential and Housing Board rents for last month after a fairly good month for landlords in January, when rents of private non-landed homes rose 0.2 per cent month-on-month.

That increase had followed a 0.4 per cent rise in December, marking a second consecutive month of increase after 10 consecutive months of decline. Rents of HDB flats also rose in January, by 0.7 per cent.
