MUAR - Patrons dining at a coffee shop in Muar were in for a surprise - and a treat - from the Sultan of Johor who dropped in at the no-frills eatery.
Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar sat with the other diners at Restoran Ansari and ordered roti prata and other dishes.
He also treated the diners and paid the owner of the coffee shop to serve free food to all customers for the rest of the day, Malaysia's The New Straits Times reported.
The Johor Sultan posted a picture of his visit on his Facebook page on Dec 18. The post has since received more than 44, 000 likes and 5,000 shares.

Another Facebook user, Annie Rai, wrote: "I adore Sultan Johor. Such a lovely sultan who cares for his people."
The Johor Sultan also surprised another group of diners at Restoran Muar Soup House on Saturday (Dec 19).
He showed up at the outlet at 7am and greeted the patrons, inviting them to breakfast, the The New Straits Times reported.
He had roti canai garing or crunchy roti prata, samosa with mutton curry and a teh tarik.
He was accompanied by Muar officials and spent about 40 minutes at the eatery before leaving for Istana Tanjung, the report said.
