The family of a Singaporean woman who died in Bali is receiving assistance from the Singapore embassy in Jakarta, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said.

Ms Hua Ming was reportedly found dead in the bathtub of her hotel room in Bali. A spokesman for the MFA said the ministry has been in close contact with Ms Hua's family and Indonesian authorities.

A consular officer from the Embassy in Jakarta was in Bali to assist the family, the spokesman added.

"We extend our condolences to the family of the late Ms Hua Ming on her passing," he said.

Coconuts Bali reported that Ms Hua, 50, was found at the Anantara Hotel by a room attendant.

Police saw no signs of violence on her body, the website said, quoting from an Indonesian news report.

Ms Hua checked into the luxury hotel on Jan 23 with two friends, and her friends left the hotel on Sunday (Jan 24).

One of her friends was from Singapore and one was from China, Coconuts Bali said.

A cup of coffee and bread was found near her naked body, Indonesian press reported quoting the police.
