Singaporean man in Skudai dies after losing control of car on way to Johor Baru

JOHOR BARU (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - A Singaporean man died on the spot after he lost control of his car and rammed into a wall on the side of the road when heading into Johor Baru city.

The incident happened when Mr Ng Eng Chye, 44, who worked as a factory supervisor in Taman Pulai Utama, Skudai, was driving towards Johor Baru on Jalan Kota Tinggi at around 6.10am on Tuesday.

Johor Baru (South) OCPD Asst Comm Sulaiman Salleh said that the victim lost control of his vehicle along the left lane of KM1 of Jalan Kota Tinggi-Johor Baru.

"That was where his car went up the road shoulder and rammed into a wall at the turning before Jalan Storey before his car came to a complete stop on the road.

"The victim was believed to have been thrown out of the vehicle as a result of the impact and died on the spot," he said.

ACP Sulaiman added that no other vehicle was involved in the accident and no witnesses came forward so far.

"The condition of the road was wet at the time but it was not busy," he said, adding that Mr Ng was sent to Hospital Sultanah Aminah for a post mortem.
