President Tony Tan Keng Yam and PM Lee Hsien Loong offer condolences to Russia, Dubai leaders on flydubai crash

SINGAPORE - President Tony Tan Keng Yam and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong have written to Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev respectively to offer their condolences over the crash of flydubai flight FZ981, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Sunday (March 20).

All 62 people aboard the passenger jet flying from Dubai to southern Russia were killed when their plane crashed on its second attempt to land at Rostov-on-Don airport on Saturday. Most of those on board were Russian.

Dr Tan and PM Lee also conveyed their condolences to Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, MFA added in its statement.
