Overturned trailer causes massive traffic jam in Johor Baru

JOHOR BARU (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - An overturned trailer along one of the busiest roads in Johor Baru has caused a bumper-to-bumper crawl.

Traffic was backed up from around 6am on Tuesday after a trailer rammed into an overhead road sign and crashed into a divider, before overturning at KM8.5 of Jalan Johor Baru-Ayer Hitam.

"The trailer slid to the right side of the road, causing the signboard pole to break and collapse to the ground," said Johor Baru North deputy OCPD Supt Beh Eng Lai.

The accident caused an 8km crawl from Skudai heading in and out of the city, he said.

Efforts to remove the damaged vehicle are ongoing and road users are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes.
