Supporters of the National League for Democracy (NLD) party offering free food during a street celebration to welcome President Htin Kyaw - Myanmar's first civilian president in 50 years - in Yangon yesterday.

The South-east Asian nation was dominated by the military for more than half a century until March 30 when Aung San Suu Kyi and her pro-democracy party took power.
