Man collapses and dies while queueing to enter Singapore at Johor Baru immigration counter

GELANG PATAH (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - A 63-year-old man collapsed and died while queueing at the immigration counter at the Sultan Abu Bakar Complex in Johor Baru.

Mr Mohd Ismail Abdullah was lining up with his wife when he collapsed at 4.20am on Thursday (Dec 21).

Iskandar Puteri police district head Noor Hashim Mohamad said the couple had travelled from Kuala Lumpur and wanted to take the bus into Singapore.

"He was pronounced dead when the ambulance arrived at about 5am. His body was taken to Hospital Sultanah Aminah for a post-mortem," said Superintendent Noor Hashim in a statement.

Supt Noor Hashim also ruled out criminal elements, adding that the case was classified as a sudden death.
