Malaysian woman arrested after slitting young sons' throats

SUNGAI PETANI (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - The woman who allegedly killed her two sons was remanded for seven days by the Sungai Petani magistrate's court at Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital in Sungai Petani where she was warded following her arrest on Tuesday (Dec 1).

Kuala Muda District OCPD Assistant Commissioner Police (ACP) Md Zukil Md Isa confirmed that the 35 year old woman was remanded for seven days by Sungai Petani Magistrate Court Magistrate Mohd Izham Ali,"

"She was remanded till Dec 8 under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code to facilitate in the investigation of the murdered of her two children aged 3 and 5 on Tuesday.

"The suspect was remanded at the Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital at about 11.00am"

The suspect is believed to have suffered from depression and mental instability which led her to kill her two sons Tee Cong Ming, 5, and Tee Cong Shern,3, at a three-storey house at No.20 Lorong Wira Indah 11, Taman Wira Indah, Sg Petani Kedah,

Their bodies were found by the victims' grandfather at about 3.20pm inside a room of the house where they stayed on Tuesday.

The woman was found in another room with a cut to her left wrist.

A weapon, believed to be a vegetable knife was found in the house.

Kedah CID Chief ACP Mohd Nashir Ya classified the case as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
