Malaysian transport officer wows netizens with her Mandarin

PETALING JAYA (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - A video of a Malay Road Transport Department (JPJ) officer speaking in Mandarin has impressed netizens.

Ms Nur Syafiqah Azaman was seen explaining to two Chinese nationals the procedure for a car ownership transfer, in a 1 minute 36 second video that has gone viral on social media.

The video, uploaded onto Facebook by user Syamsul Amir, has since generated 62,000 views and 407 shares as of Thursday (Sept 21) morning.

Facebook user Muhamad Fazrin said it was fantastic that there was a JPJ officer who could converse in Mandarin.

"This could be very helpful in assisting many types of people," he said.

Imza Adeli Ibrahim also congratulated Ms Syafiqah for assisting the Chinese nationals and said that her actions have improved the department's image.

Mohd Hafiz added that he was proud of the Perlis-born woman while Zamira Wahab said that Ms Syafiqah conversing in Mandarin was amazing.
