Malaysian Cabinet minister waits in queue at clinic, becomes social media darling

PETALING JAYA (The Star/Asia News Network) - A photograph of a Malaysian Cabinet Minister waiting in line at the Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) has gone viral on social media.

International Trade and Industry Minister Mustapa Mohamed is seen in the picture seated with other patients at the waiting area of the hospital.

The photo was posted on a ruling coalition supporters' Facebook page, Friends of BN - Barisan Nasional, on Tuesday (May 16).

The Facebook post has attracted more than 1,500 likes and 534 comments so far.

When contacted by The Star, Mustapa said: "I had an appointment at 8am on Monday at the specialist clinic of HKL.

"While waiting for my turn to see the doctor, I had the chance to chat with some of the patients."

The minister said he came down with severe rashes after returning from an overseas trip, adding that it was his third visit to HKL to seek treatment.
