BAGAN SERAI (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - An 11-year-old SK Telok Medan pupil was killed after being run over by a lorry in front of the school.

The tragedy was said to have occurred at about 7.20am on Wednesday (Sept 21) when the boy, identified as Mohamad Haikal Helme from Kampung Parit Gabis Atas, was crossing the road to the school.

The lorry driver was unable to brake in time and ran over the pupil, said Kerian OCPD Supt Omar Bakhtiar Yaacob.

He added that the lorry laden with chicken feed was heading towards Sungai Siput from Butterworth.
