Jakarta blasts: Gunfight caught on video, police say 10 to 14 gunmen involved

Indonesia blames Islamic State for an attack by suicide bombers and gunmen in the heart of Jakarta that brought the radical group's violence to the world's most populous Muslim country for the first time.
Indonesian police say militants have launched a gun and bomb assault in the centre of the capital Jakarta, killing at least six people.

JAKARTA -Shots rang out in the centre of Jakarta as gunmen thought to be terrorists faced the police in a gunfight.

Up to six blasts were heard in the city near Sarinah shopping mall in the centre of the Indonesian capital on Thursday (Jan 14).

Police said 10 to 14 gunmen were involved. Some 100 police officers, dressed in SWAT attire, were seen gathering near the mall.

A video on social media showed the gun battle, and a suspected gunman firing away.
