Indonesians head to the polls on Wednesday to elect a new Parliament in the world’s third-biggest democracy. About 6,600 candidates are vying for 560 seats in the national parliament. The vote will also determine which parties will be able to put forth a pair of candidates for the July 9 presidential election.

The Straits Times will be providing the latest news updates and photos from the legislative election. This includes quick count results expected to come in from around 2pm Singapore time (6.00am GMT).

Indonesia bureau chief Zakir Hussain leads the ST team, comprising Zubaidah Nazeer, Wahyudi Soeriaatmadja, Reme Ahmad, Salim Osman, Cassandra Chew and photographer Kevin Lim.
