Homes damaged by flood waters in Kuala Selangor in the Malaysian state of Selangor.

A number of coastal villages have been flooded while others have used sandbags to stem the flow.

The flooding was caused by a high-tide phenomenon that raised sea water levels by up to 5m, forcing the evacuation of more than 300 people in the past two days.

Strong waves are expected to hit several coastal states today.
