PETALING JAYA (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - Police were questioning former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad at his office in Putrajaya on Wednesday (June 29), his lawyer said.

Mohamed Haniff Khatri Abdulla confirmed that Dr Mahathir was being questioned by police at his office at the Perdana Leadership Foundation.

"It's still ongoing. My team are there in the session. I was having a trial so I am on my way there now," Mohamed Haniff told The Star Online.

He could not say what exactly Dr Mahathir was being questioned about.

It was the second time in June that the former premier was questioned by the authorities.

On the first occasion, Dr Mahathir was questioned over his statement that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong or king and other Malay Rulers had been "placed under house arrest".
