Unlike a traditional economy, the digital economy favours start-ups and smaller players, which in turn lead the way in driving innovation, Singapore Deputy Prime Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam said yesterday.

He was speaking at a panel discussion in Jakarta during which he shared the vision of a single digital economy for Asean.
