KUALA LUMPUR (ASIA NEWS NETWORK/THE STAR) - As of late Monday night (May 21), Bukit Aman police officers are still counting cash of multiple currencies seized from Pavillion Residences on Friday (May 18).

It is learnt that officers from the Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID) began the counting on early Monday morning at CCID headquarters at Menara 238 along Jalan Tun Razak.

Sources said the process is likely to take some time as the amount is quite substantial.

"It is not by any means done. The process will take quite long," the source said.

When contacted, Bukit Aman CCID director Comm Datuk Seri Amar Singh refused to comment on the matter as the matter is still under investigation.

On Friday, police seized 284 boxes filled with designer handbags, watches, jewellery and cash in various currencies from three luxury condominiums.

Police said the value of the seizures could not be estimated due to its sheer volume.

Comm Amar, who led the raids at Pavilion Residences here, had said this was part of its investigations into 1MDB (1Malaysia Development Berhad).

This follows a police check of six locations linked to former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak here and in Putrajaya, including the Prime Minister's Office, his official residence as well as other premises.
