KUALA LUMPUR - Co-pilot Fariq Abdul Hamid of the missing Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 was new to Boeing 777 but his training had been very strict and this was his sixth flight on board the Boeing plane, says Malaysia Airlines CEO Ahmad Jauhari Yahya.
He added that Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah was a Boeing 777 examiner.
So far, there has been no ransom demand or anyone claiming responsibility for the disappearance of MH370 on March 8, Mr Ahmad Jauhari told a daily press briefing on Monday.
There has also been no distress signal from the flight picked up by any satellite, he added.
Malaysian authorities have said they are investigating all possibilities, including pilot suicide. Besides the two pilots, they are also investigating the backgrounds of the remaining crew, 227 passengers and ground staff of the Beijing-bound plane.
