The year 2021 is shaping up to be a bittersweet time for Mr Arifin, an East Java-based furniture exporter.

Bitter because the 42-year-old's company Sasana Antik has consignments of cabinets, tables and other furnishings bound for European customers worth about US$500,000 (S$676,000) languishing in his warehouses.
