JOHOR BARU (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - Social media users have been reminded to be mindful of what they post and share on the Internet, especially with the general election looming, said Deputy Home Minister Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed on Sunday (March 4).

The minister said action will be taken against those found spreading lies and accusations with the aim of defaming others and causing chaos.

"With the election looming, we can expect more and more false allegations surfacing on the Internet intentionally to cause anger and disharmony among the people," he said.

"It will be the opposition's final tactic to create lies against the government, as they know that we will be unable to address all allegations in time," he told reporters.
