Thai PM confirms plans to reshuffle Cabinet

BANGKOK • Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha confirmed an imminent Cabinet reshuffle yesterday, adding that he would replace some ministers and appoint outsiders to the posts.

"I will change ministers as appropriate, and every change will definitely affect other posts. Some outsiders will be coming in, some will have to leave and some will be swopped," Gen Prayut said.

The general, who led a May 2014 coup, was appointed prime minister last August by a hand-picked legislature. He has come under increasing pressure over the economy.
