Indonesia to ramp up fight against drugs

JAKARTA • Indonesia's anti-narcotics chief plans to aggressively ramp up the fight against drugs by bolstering its police force with more personnel and heavy weaponry.

National anti-narcotics agency chief Budi Waseso made the announcement on Tuesday.

KL extends bauxite mining moratorium

KUALA LUMPUR • Malaysia has extended a moratorium on bauxite mining to the end of the year, from Sept 14.

The Natural Resources Minister yesterday said it would be extended by another six months if stockpiles are not cleared.
