India says 'no standoff' with US in diplomat row

NEW DELHI (AFP) - India said Saturday there was "no standoff" with Washington after it expelled a US diplomat in a row over the arrest of an Indian consular official in New York.

"There is no standoff between India and the US," Indian foreign minister Salman Khurshid told reporters in New Delhi in televised remarks, adding "if there are any issues" the countries will "sort them out mutually".
