CAAS to work with French aerospace firm

The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) will work with French aerospace firm Thales on the development of new air traffic management technology.

They will cooperate in areas such as the use of artificial intelligence in air traffic management, as well as exploring how airspace can be shared between manned aircraft and drones.


Aviation authority, Iata to set up research centre

The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore signed an agreement yesterday with the International Air Transport Association (Iata) to establish the Global Safety Predictive Analytics Research Centre in Singapore.

It will use predictive analytics to identify potential aviation safety hazards and assess risks using Iata's operational flight data and safety information.


A*Star shows off aerospace innovations

The Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*Star) showed off some of its aerospace innovations at the Singapore Airshow. These include research into using machine learning to study engine aerodynamics, and aircraft inspection algorithms.

Last month, it was announced that A*Star would support emerging technologies in aerospace as part of an industry transformation map that will add $4 billion and create 1,000 new jobs in the sector.
