NANJING - A new human case of H7N9 bird flu has been reported in east China's Jiangsu province.

The 54-year-old man is receiving treatment in a hospital in the provincial capital of Nanjing, Xinhua news agency quoted Jiangsu's health department as saying on Saturday.

The man was confirmed infected on Thursday, the agency said.

This is the second case reported in the province this year. The first case - a 54-year-old woman in Nanjing - was reported on Wednesday.

The two patients are currently in stable conditions, said the report.

Besides Jiangsu, human cases of H7N9 have also been reported in the provinces of Zhejiang and Guangdong as well as Shanghai Municipality so far this year.
