China's party congress agenda

The spokesman for China's 19th Party Congress will hold a press conference today at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, and is expected to discuss the agenda for the national congress. The event starting tomorrow will be attended by more than 2,200 delegates selected from across China.


Counter-terrorism exercise at T3

A multi-agency counter-terrorism exercise was scheduled to be held at Changi Airport Terminal 3 between 1am and 3am today. It was to have involved the Singapore Police Force, Changi Airport Group, Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore, Singapore Armed Forces, Singapore Civil Defence Force, Ministry of Health and other agencies. During the exercise, blanks and pyrotechnics were to have been used at the terminal.


September exports data out

IE Singapore will unveil Singapore's exports data for last month today, with analysts predicting a strong set of numbers when cross referenced against the advance estimates economic data released last Friday. It showed that the economy expanded 4.6 per cent - its fastest pace in more than three years - in the third quarter, buoyed by the surging manufacturing sector.
