N. Korea marks army's 70th anniversary

Pyongyang will commemorate the 70th anniversary of the founding of its military with a parade today on the eve of South Korea's Winter Olympics.

The parade was held on April 25 for years, but the government announced last month that starting this year, it would take place on Feb 8. Analysts say this is North Korea's carefully calculated move to use the global spotlight on the peninsula to reassert its military power.


Special CNY programmes on Sentosa

Universal Studios Singapore and SEA Aquarium at Resorts World Sentosa are unveiling their festive offerings for Chinese New Year.

These include an underwater dragon dance performance and educational trails for visitors to these attractions from tomorrow till Feb 28.


DBS' Q4 and full-year results out today

DBS Group Holdings will release its fourth-quarter and full-year results today.

Some analysts expect the bank's fourth-quarter net income to have risen by 32 per cent to $1.2 billion.
