HENAN - A video of a fight between two medical workers in an operating theatre has gone viral in China.

Closed-circuit television footage from May 12 shows two workers in scrubs apparently having an argument.

The man throws his gloves at the woman after taking them off, and she throws a punch at him.

He then turns on her and begins raining punches at her while other workers try to stop them.

The incident allegedly happened in Lankou, Henan province, in central China.

The video on Chinese media sites features an interview with a police investigating officer.

He tells the interviewer that the operation had ended and the patient was not in the room at the time.

Netizens who have seen the footage disputed this.

The officer would not disclose what led to the altercation.
