US elections: South Korea expects next US president to maintain pressure on North Korea

SEOUL (AFP, REUTERS) - South Korea's Foreign Minister said on Wednesday (Nov 9) that he expects the next US administration to maintain its policy of pressuring North Korea.

Meantime, the presidential office is to hold a National Security Council meeting to discuss the impact of the US elections.

This comes as Republican Donald Trump added key battleground states Florida, Ohio and North Carolina to his haul of state wins in the race for the White House, US television networks projected.

Mr Trump needed Florida to have a viable path to the magic number of 270 electoral college votes.
