Trial of British man accused of double murder in Hong Kong set for October next year

HONG KONG (BLOOMBERG) - A former employee of Bank of America Corp. who was charged with murdering two Indonesian women in Hong Kong will stand trial on Oct 25 next year.

Rurik Jutting is accused of killing Sumarti Ningsih, 23, and Seneng Mujiasih, 29, whose bodies were found at his apartment in upmarket Wan Chai district in November last year. One of the bodies was decomposing in a suitcase.

Jutting was 29 when he was charged.

The hearing may take 20 days, running through Nov 21 next year, Justice Louis Tong said when he set the date in the High Court on Wednesday (Oct 14).

Jutting did not appear in court and has yet to enter a plea.
