Six rail workers killed after being hit by freight train in China

ZHENGZHOU - Six people were who were working at a railway station in central China's Henan province were killed when they were hit by a freight train, China's Xinhua news agency reported citing local railway authorities.

The accident occured while the six were working on the rails at Anyang Railway Station on the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway on Saturday morning, Xinhua reported on Sunday (Dec 11), citing the Zhengzhou Railway Bureau.

According to the report, two of the victims were employees of the railway bureau while the rest were migrant workers.

An investigation into the accident is underway, the report said.
