TOKYO - Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will play golf with US President Donald Trump when the latter visits Japan in November, according to Japanese government sources.

The two leaders will play at an exclusive country club in Saitama Prefecture on Nov 5, The Asahi Shimbun reported on Wednesday (Oct 18).

They might be accompanied by a professional golfer during the game.

After golf, Mr Abe and Mr Trump will continue with an unofficial dinner, said The Asahi Shimbun. The next day, the two leaders will hold a bilateral meeting.

The golf-loving pair had played together at Mr Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida for a spot of "golf diplomacy" when Mr Abe visited in February.

In November 2016, before Mr Trump assumed the US presidency, Mr Abe presented golf clubs to Mr Trump when they met in the United States.
