North and South Koreans separately celebrated the 62nd anniversary of armistice that ended the fighting, but not the war. The armistice was signed on July 27, 1953.

At an armistice anniversary event, South Korean Prime Minister Hwang Kyo Ahn urged Pyongyang to give up its nuclear programme.
