Minister for Foreign Affairs and Law K. Shanmugam will make an official visit to the People's Republic of China from June 11 to 14 at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

In Beijing, Mr Shanmugam will meet Mr Wang and be hosted to lunch, a statement from Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said.

Mr Shanmugam will also meet Chinese Vice-President Li Yuanchao, State Councillor Yang Jiechi, Supreme People's Court president Zhou Qiang, Procurator-General of the Supreme People's Procuratorate Cao Jianming, as well as Mr Wang Jiarui, a minister at the Communist Party of China Central Committee's International Department and vice-chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

Mr Shanmugam will also visit Suzhou, where he will be hosted to a meal by Mr Jiang Hongkun, Suzhou party secretary and vice-chairman of the Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee. Mr Shanmugam will also be visiting the China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park, which marks its 20th anniversary this year.

Mr Shanmugam will also be visiting Shanghai, the MFA statement added.
