The fearsome Godzilla taking pride of place at Tokyo's Shinjuku Chuo Park. To be exact, it's a sand sculpture of the head of the iconic Japanese movie monster, recently named the tourism ambassador of Shinjuku Ward, one of the capital's busiest commercial districts. On display until Sept 27, the 3m-high artwork took acclaimed sand sculptor Toshihiko Hosaka 10 days to build, using about 50 tonnes of sand, said Japan's state broadcaster NHK. Fixing agents were sprayed on the surface to maintain the shape even on rainy or windy days.
