Many buried in home collapse in China's Wenzhou city: Xinhua

HANGZHOU - An unknown number of people were buried in the debris after residential blocks collapsed Thursday (Feb 2) morning in Wenzhou, a rich industrial city in east China's Zhejiang province, Xinhua news agency reported.

The buildings were about five storeys tall, sources with the local government said.  

The accident happened at around 8am in Baizhangji township of Wencheng county.

Rescue work was ongoing, Xinhua said.
