Hong Kong protests: Man tries to set himself on fire outside Chief Executive's office

HONG KONG - A man has attempted to set himself on fire outside the Hong Kong Chief Executive's office, Radio Television Hong Kong reported Sunday.

Quoting reports from the scene, the public broadcaster said the man was demanding talks with Chief Secretary Carrie Lam.

Mrs Lam has been tasked by CE Leung Chun Ying to negotiate with the student protestors.

The man was stopped by several police officers and taken away after he took out a lighter, RTHK said. He was not named in the report.
